The YWCA of Van Wert County invited people to join them at the bowling alley for a glow-bowling event. A percentage of sales from the event will be donated to the YWCA's human trafficking programs. These events give them an opportunity to provide awareness to their cause and raise funds for their operations.
"Some people that come to this event already know what we do, but it's also an opportunity for us to educate people about what we do. For them to understand more of what human trafficking looks like in our community and in northwest Ohio, because it's very different than what's portrayed in the media. It's important that we get people to understand the survivor services aspect of what we provide, as well as the youth programs that we do throughout the summer. So that's what's important for us as far as these outreach events go," said Julie Schaufelberger, Outreach Coordinator for the Van Wert County YWCA.
Schaufelberger also adds that they appreciate everyone who supports their mission in any way they can.
