FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) -Â The Allan H. Davis Judicial Center in Findlay held its grand opening Friday afternoon.

The previous building used by the court was deemed unsuitable by the Ohio Supreme Court in 2014.Â
Findlay-Hancock County officials and members of the public gathered on West Main Cross Street to watch as they cut the ribbon to commence operations in the new building. The previous building used by the court was deemed unsuitable by the Ohio Supreme Court in 2014. The new 47,000-square-foot, three-story building will house the Hancock County Juvenile and Probate Courts, along with several other organizations.
"Because of the size of the building, we've built a lot of future growth capacity into this building without having to do an addition to it later. There are empty offices that we know about in this initial occupancy that they'll fill over the course of time and grow into those spaces. And also, a lot of the spaces just have more elbow room than we did before, where we had so many cramped spaces and you had filing cabinets on top of everything else, and now we've got a lot more room to work with," said Tim Bechtol, Hancock County commissioner.
During the design process, a maximum budget of around $21 million was set. Through cost-saving efforts during construction, the project was completed $1.6 million under budget.
