Homeless man found competent to stand trial for aggravated arson

After two competency evaluations the Allen County Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey Reed says that 20-year-old Jonathan Brown will be standing trial for aggravated arson.

In July 2021, Brown allegedly tried to hurt a woman by setting the bed she was in on fire.  He underwent two separate competency evaluations, and both doctors say that he can stand trial for the crime. A trial date has been set for April. Since the charge is a Felony 1, if found guilty, he could be sentenced anywhere between three and eleven years in prison.
