LOGAN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) - Indian Lake High School’s Class of 2025 received a memorable sendoff Friday night with a special commencement speaker—Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.
Gov. DeWine praised the graduating class for their resilience, noting that they have endured significant challenges throughout their school years. From the loss of two classmates in tragic car accidents to the devastating EF3 tornado that struck the town just over a year ago, DeWine highlighted how the students' perseverance never wavered.

"What we saw is this community rally and these students were really part of that. You know, I walked into the school and saw what some of the students were doing to help other people. It was just an amazing, amazing thing," said Gov. DeWine.
The governor visited Indian Lake the day after the tornado hit, surveying the damage and holding a news conference at the high school to address the community’s recovery efforts.
