Johnny Appleseed teaching the fundamentals of archery

BATH TWP, ALLEN COUNTY OHIO -  Johnny Appleseed Parks is giving people the chance to take a shot at archery. The park district held two beginning archery classes Wednesday night at the Allen County Farm Park. The free classes give kids from 9-years-old to adults the fundamentals of how to properly use a bow and arrow and how to safely use them on a range. The archery classes are very popular each summer, and they can teach some important lessons for kids and adults.

“I think archery is really good helping to teach skills like patience and persistence and being able to continue to try at something and perfect your skills,” says Anne Smedley, Natural Resources Manager, JAMPD. “We have noticed that we will have some repeat individuals coming. But we always seem to have a handful of new folks every single time that offer one, and we get some excitement for it.”
