LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The City of Lima has approved the annexation of nearly 10 acres of land into the city that will be used to build a new healthcare facility.
The land annexed into the city is located in the 2200 block of North Cole Street, which will be the site of Health Partners of Western Ohio's newest medical facility. Health partners will build a 5-acre state-of-the-art medical campus that will include 25 clinical rooms and 8 dental operatories as well as a full-service pharmacy with a drive-up window.
Health Partners of Western Ohio will also put in a 1-acre pond and a 4-acre wooded walking path.
Your Hometown Stations talked with Health Partners of Western Ohio CEO Janis Sunderhaus, who says this new facility will expand healthcare and shares future plans of the current facilities.
"We'll also be able to expand and actually hire more primary care providers. We are really maxed out. We can't add any more people, and there's patients who still need us, and so we're excited about that. Our two existing buildings will also be repurposed and kept within the Health Partners family. We're hoping one becomes kind of a materials management to kind of keep track of all of our supplies, and the other one, we're hoping to develop that into some specialty services," explained Janis Sunderhaus, CEO of Health Partners of Western Ohio.
Health Partners of Western Ohio will also put in a 1-acre pond and a 4-acre wooded walking path. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2025 with a grand opening expected in 2026.
