The Leipsic Volunteer Fire Department held its second annual Fire Truck and Car Show during the Leipsic Fall Festival on Saturday.
A group of unique cars were entered into the competition, along with the firetrucks that came in support of the event. The fire department started this tradition to help raise awareness about cystic fibrosis, after a fellow fireman's daughter, Evelyn Tussing, was diagnosed with the disease. She was diagnosed at only ten days old, and the family has since helped with many different events to raise money and awareness with hopes of finding a cure
"One of my fellow firemen, their daughter's diagnosed with CF, and so we've been trying to raise awareness to help their cause and help the cause in general," Leipsic Fire Chief, Brian Wagler said.
"It's all free will and that money all goes 100% to the CF foundation. The fire department goes out and finds sponsorship for the trophies and that, so there's no cost for us and it all goes to a good cause."
One hundred percent of the donations from the event and bake sale will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis foundation..
