Lima Councilman calls for action after two recent shootings

With two murders within the last two weeks, a Lima City councilman says the situation in Lima is an emergency, and the community needs to come together to figure out a solution. On Friday, 26-year-old Orlando Lawrence was shot on his front porch in the 400 block of North Baxter. Lawrence was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. No word yet on any suspects in that shooting, and the Lima Police Department is still working on leads to find the suspects accused in the Catapla Avenue shooting on November 21st.

Between the murders, and the rash of opiate and heroin related overdoses, 6th ward Councilman Derry Glenn says the city needs to come together to combat the problem. Police are still looking for information into the shooting death of Orlando Lawrence.  If you have any information about the people involved contact LPD at 419-227-4444 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 419-229-STOP.Â
