The Lima Exchange Club presented "Accepting the Challenge of Excellence" awards to local high school students.
The A.C.E. Award recognizes high school students who have made major changes in their attitude and performance during their high school years, all while overcoming great physical, emotional or social obstacles. The Lima Exchange Club awarded all nominated students with a $100 scholarship check and this year's overall winner, Angel Hahn, from Shawnee High School received a $500Â check. Hahn says the award has motivated her to continue down a positive path, and she is thankful for her obstacles.
"I look back on my past choices and what I've done and just reflect on them and I have a lot of self motivation to do better now because of it and I know where all that stuff gets you and where it leads you so I don't ever want to do it again," commented Hahn.
Hahn will be eligible to compete for additional scholarship money at the exchange club district convention.
