A house fire on the south side of Lima leaves a home with $20,000 worth of damage.
Just after 9:30 a.m. the Lima Fire Department was called to the corner of 4th and McClain after a house caught on fire. Battalion Chief Greg Kirkendall says when they first arrived there was fire coming from the first floor. The fire department had to pull down parts of the ceiling to get the fire out from within the walls and to begin to clear out all the smoke.
Kirkendall says investigators will search the home to determine what started the fire.
