Lima Memorial Health System is now home to one of the most sophisticated and technologically advanced piece of medical equipment in the country and is excited to offer its services to the community.
The hospital’s brand new GE Signa MRI scanner is only one of five in the country, and its job is to minimize scan times and increase scan image quality. The increase in the maximum weight allowed in the machine, and the ability to scan feet-first helps many patients that might otherwise not have gotten a scan.
Tony Linkmeyer, the executive director of ancillary services at Lima Memorial says, “All in all, the way that we worked in picking this magnet was: technology for clarity, for image quality for the services we could offer, but then to bring about everything that we could do for patient comfort.”
The new equipment is part of the hospital’s $30 million expansion. Along with the MRI machine, they have added other new state-of-the-art technology to their new Outpatient Diagnostic and Imaging center.
“Our total vision is to improve the outpatient services as an organization," says Linkmeyer. "As we continue on in the rest of our major capital projects, our customers, our patients will see that we’re bringing to them convenience, accessibility, and technology."
The addition will also include a Welcome Center at the hospital, and a new inpatient rehabilitation, family medicine, and walk-in care center in Wapakoneta.
