It’s been two years since they have seen each other, and it was a “Sweet Reunion” for Lima Memorial Health System volunteers.
The hospital sponsored a dessert reception for the volunteers to thank them for all they do. There are more than 300 individuals that give their time to the hospital and their patients. What hey do spans across the board from assisting patients to working in the gift shop. This was the first time they have been together as a group since the start of the pandemic. Everyone took the time to greet each other and catch up. They say they can always use more volunteers and encourage others to join them.
LMH Volunteer Roberta Brewer says, “You don’t have to be there 40 hours a week. You can pick which area that they have open for you. And it’s very rewarding. If you’re with a patient or you’re helping with an office situation, the pharmacy. I’m in the gift shop which is a fun job to do. But there’s a lot of places that you can volunteer at.”
The hospital also awarded the volunteers with a gift for the number of years that they have served.
