Shots were fired Wednesday night in Lima and police believe it could be gang related.
At 9:10 Wednesday night, officers were called to Holmes and Reese after several shots were fired. Shortly after, a 9-1-1 call came in for a shooting victim at the apartments at 758 and 760 E. 4th Street. A 17-year-old black male was shot in the leg, and taken to Lima Memorial Hospital. He and another teen were walking in the area of Reese and Holmes when two unknown suspects began shooting at them. They ran to the apartments and asked one of the residents to call police. Evidence was collected just off of the 1100 block of Hughes. The teen is listed in stable condition.
The shooting is still under investigation and it's being considered possibly gang related. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Steve Stechschulte, at the Lima Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
