LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima Public Library has adjusted their parking and interior layout due to recent construction project.
The interior is entering the first phase of its construction project, which involves new carpeting and lighting for the stack area of the library. These storage racks have been moved towards the entrance on the main floor while the area is being renovated. Additionally, the front entrance and parking area have been closed for construction. Library workers encourage patrons to check with the front desk if they need help navigating the new layout.
"Anyone coming to the library soon, I would just make them aware that our parking area has become a little bit smaller, and our entrances as well," said Liz Smith, head of public relations. "Once they come into the library, they're going to be hit with the stacks that we had to move onto the main floor. Just look for the signs and don't be afraid to ask anyone for some guidance on where things are."
Smith says the project will improve the accessibility of the library and modernize its design. Alongside the carpeting and lighting renovations, an elevator is being added to improve access to the upstairs area. Construction is expected to finish in mid 2027.
