Resignations in Lima

More than six years after artificial turf was installed at Lima Stadium, Lima City Schools are getting a partial reimbursement through a grant from the Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission.

Lima Stadium was built in 1936 and is the only high school stadium in Ohio to be listed on the national register of historic places.

The $100,000 state appropriation will reimburse a portion of the cost to replace the natural surface field with an artificial surface, allowing more activities to occur in the stadium.

The historic stadium is home to the Lima Senior Spartans and the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds, and is used by the Lima Warriors, a minor league amateur football team.
