LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A local musician is making her way by releasing her first album.

Brooke Yonut is an Elida alumnus who works in therapy and social work. Over the past 3 years she has worked as a professional musician, performing at various gigs and concerts. She decided to make not only original songs, but a full album, titling it, "Letters I’ve burned". The 9-song album contains themes of growth, healing, and the importance of processing. By writing music, she feels as though it is a way to tell her story, and to share her talent.

Local musician releases debut album focused on growth and healing

"So, I've always kind of been into music, and just kind of through my life, it was a way for me to process things and feel better. And, as I grew up and started going to therapy, and kind of going into the mental health route, it really became an outlet for me," says Brooke Yonut, musician.
