WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) - The non-profit Generations of Love has seen a lot of growth in the short time since it began.
Paige Fiebelkorn started the organization to help foster, kinship, and adoptive families, as well as children and at-risk youth. In the last month, Generations of Love has moved into a building in downtown Wapakoneta and they are working to provide a lot of resources they say are lacking around Auglaize County, including respite care for caregivers.
"We don't have any providers locally, even statewide they are hard to find. So getting somebody that is able to give a caregiver a break is very, very challenging," says Paige Fiebelkorn, President of Generations of Love. "As well as a place for youth to go after school or through the summer. To get homework help, mental health counseling, music therapy, art therapy. Just have a safe place to connect to other peers that are in a similar situation."
Generations of Love is holding an open house this week for people to come out and check out their new home located at 5 Main Street in Wapakoneta. There will be a ribbon cutting and open house this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are looking for donations to put in a baby box and also need some volunteers to help expand their mission. You can find the QR codes for both below on the Generations of Love flyer.
