COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources confirmed that 40 white-tailed deer taken during the 25-26 hunting season have tested positive for a disease.
Over 6.6 thousand deer were tested around Ohio for Chronic Wasting Disease, and 40 tested positive. CWD is a neurological disease that is fatal for these deer. Once infected, there is no cure.
