LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Ohio officials are inviting residents who use both Medicare and Medicaid to learn more about the state’s upcoming Next Generation MyCare Program.

The Ohio Department of Medicaid will visit Area Agency on Aging 3 in Lima on Feb. 17 to host an informational session about the program, which is set to begin May 1. The program will serve residents in Allen, Auglaize, Putnam, Hancock, Hardin, Mercer and Van Wert counties.

Area Agency on Aging 3 officials say the session will help people better understand how the Next Generation MyCare Program works and how it may improve access to benefits and services for those who are dua eligible.

“That program is designed for those dual eligible individuals with Medicare and Medicaid, kind of to streamline those benefits, and that plan for them to help give them better services. So it'll be the Ohio Department of Medicaid there at our agency on the 17th. So then all the information is coming from a direct source, not something that might be a possible fraud, a possible Scam," says Jessie Roberts, Area Agency on Aging 3.

The Ohio Department of Health will also be present during the community visit for the Next Generation MyCare Program at Area Agency on Aging 3, located at 2423 Allentown Road in Lima. The event will take place Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Ohio Department of Medicaid Coming to Lima for Community Visit Learn More About the Next Generation MyCare Program

LIMA, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is hosting a community visit in Lima to share information about the Next Generation MyCare Program.

Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) officials will be at Area Agency on Aging 3, Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. to answer questions about the Next Generation MyCare Program. Individuals will be able to learn more about benefits, changes and how this impacts them. There will also be important member materials, including when individuals will get information about their plan and new member ID card.

“This program will help streamline benefits, as well as make the focus on the individual to ensure they are getting the best care they can. Our team at Area Agency on Aging 3 has been part of the planning and implementation process of the Next Generation MyCare Program since the discussions began and we are ready to help our individuals with this transition,” Jacqi Lucke, Chief Executive Officer at Area Agency on Aging 3 stated.

The Next Generation MyCare Program is an improved healthcare program for Ohioans who have both Medicaid and Medicare. It is currently available in 29 counties across the state.

On May 1, 2026, the program will roll out across Area Agency on Aging 3’s seven counties of Allen, Auglaize, Hancock, Hardin, Mercer, Putnam, and Van Wert.

“Individuals in our region, especially those with complex needs will see a more cohesive approach to their care, helping them maintain their independence while living in our community,” Lucke stated.

They can also contact the Ohio Medicaid Consumer Hotline at 800-324-8680. Representatives are available Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) and Saturday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.

The Aging & Disability Resource Center at Area Agency on Aging 3 at 419-222-7723 is also open to take questions about the Next Generation MyCare Program Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
