According to the insurance shopping website Insurify, Ohio is the 3rd highest state for drivers getting speeding tickets, behind North Dakota and Wisconsin. Their study says that 7.8% of Ohio drivers have a speeding ticket on their record, which is above the national average of 4.1%.Â
Ohio had over 27,000 speed-related crashes last year, with nearly 340 people killed and 1,300 others seriously injured. Insurify says average insurance rates in Ohio jump from $150 a month to $222 with a speeding ticket on your record.Â
