LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Ohio State Lima offered 4-H members and leaders an exclusive "Engineered 4(H) Success" workshop at the Lima Ford Engine Plant on Wednesday.

The high school students took part in interactive lab sessions led by faculty members from OSU Lima, with each lab session revolving around robotics, agriculture engineering, a STEM challenge, and a leadership activity.
OSU Extension and 4-H Educator, Jason Hedrick stated, "What we're trying to do is at least show our 4-H members and our youth in our region that there are good jobs and that there are great opportunities to get education right here in Allen County with OSU Lima, so we have invited OSU Extension staff and faculty alongside OSU Lima staff and faculty to come out and help support that initiative."
"Being a camp counselor, you need to do a lot with leadership leading the kids, so I'm looking forward to the leadership part of the night. I think the leadership will carry into business quite a bit, and that all of the stem throughout it will help," added Gavin Langhals, Columbus Grove senior.

"I'm really interested in the science portion of it. I love science, so I'm very excited for that. We're looking for things that could help our 4H camp experience—new programs, new tools, and new ideas for camp this year. Each one of us will have a group that we go to every afternoon, and we have to go find stuff to do with the groups, so this will help that," added Abby Stechschulte, Columbus Grove senior.
Students from Hancock and Hardin County will get the same opportunity to participate in the STEM workshop next Tuesday.
