Local painters and photographers were invited to create works inspired by the historical building itself to sell at their silent auction. Guests also enjoyed dinner, drinks, and live music.

The money raised will be put towards repairs and improvement projects that aim to bring the theater as close as possible to its original look. The owners add that the supporters of the Ohio Theatre are investing in far more than just paint, doors, or plaster.

"We feel that The Ohio Theatre is integral to the Renaissance of downtown. So you're actually supporting the whole city. If this place is a huge success, it spreads out. One thing that we've always said is that this building belongs to Lima. It's a part of Lima history, and so the community coming together to bring it back, it shows it has a special place in a lot of people's hearts," said Joe Correll, the co-owner of the Ohio Theatre.

The Ohio Theatre will also be hosting their Spring Vendor Market and Craft Fair next Saturday, April 27th.
