PIQUA, Ohio — The Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred today at 11:30 a.m. on State Route 66 at Fessler Buxton Road, in Loramie Township, Shelby County.

Preliminary investigation reveals a 2006 Nissan Altima, operated by William Seipel, 82, Houston, Ohio, was traveling southbound on State Route 66. A 2015 Dodge Caravan, operated by Marlene Wintrow, 74, Piqua, Ohio, was traveling westbound on Fessler Buxton Road when it failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the Nissan.

Seipel succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. Wintrow was transported by Spirit EMS to the Upper Valley Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Troopers from the Piqua Post were assisted on scene by Houston Fire, Spirit EMS, Shelby County Sheriff's Office, and Wrecker’s Towing.
