The Christmas spirit was alive at the Vancrest nursing home in Ada Tuesday afternoon. Ohio Northern students with the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists Organization stopped by the nursing home to throw a holiday party for the residents. The 46 residents got a nice visit from the big man in red who was passing out candy canes and had the chance to take part in some Christmas carols with the students. One of the organizers says its their way to spread holiday joy.Â
"We thought it was a good way to just help spread some holiday especially since a lot of these residents might not have family members nearby, so just remind them that we are thinking of them and since like I said this facility is pretty brand new, we thought it was a good way to reach out into the community and engage the students as well," ONU student with the ASCP, Isabel Cwikla said.
Each resident at the party also received a gift bag with a blanket inside and other holiday-themed items.Â
