OTTAWA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Putnam County Fair starts on Monday, but fair-goers got an early taste of the excitement as the fair’s parade rolled through town Friday night.
More than 50 floats, trucks, and golf carts lined Main Street as they made their way past the public. 4-H students, local businesses, first responders, and other community fair members joined in the festivities, while children tried their best to collect as much candy as possible. The parade serves as a signal to the community that the fair is just around the corner.

"It kind of gets the all the kids excited about the fair, gets the community involved, just gets us ready, pumped for the week of the fair. This year's theme is County Fair is raising success. The Fair Board kind of votes on it, and then the different 4h groups and different businesses in the community all kind of decorate as to correlate to the theme," said Holly Warnecke, Sr. Fair Board Director with the Putnam County Fair.
