A local youth center served up some barbecue to help get high school and middle school students to summer camp.
The Rally Point Youth Center is looking at raising at least $8,800 to send 20 kids to Youth for Christ camp this summer. At the camp, they will be boating, rock climbing, and growing spiritually. To help raise funds, Rally Point put the kids to work dishing out some Ahh Sweet Caroline's chicken.
"We want to encourage them to be a part of the process and to see that it's not a handout that we're offering but opportunities for them to serve and have to skin in the game too," says Rally Point Director Jared Diller.
The public can donate to Rally Point to help get a kid to summer camp or can sponsor students to do yard work to earn the money. For more information on how to do that, call Rally Point at (419)229-4444.
