After 70 years in one location, an Allen County business is looking to set up a new shop to prepare for their future.

Randall Bearings is looking to build a new manufacturing and distribution center on McClain Road and move their operations out there. Their current location doesn’t give them any space to expand, so building a new 6 to 7 million dollar facility will help them meet their future needs. The county commissioners were the final tax-collecting agency to sign an enterprise zone agreement. They approved a 95% tax abatement for 10 years, so the company can start construction.

"This has certainly been an encouraging process, as we have met with the township trustees, the county commissioners, they approved it yesterday. We think it is as important as anything, is the engagement of Shawnee Schools, along with Apollo Career Center, as they have been out to our facility and see the need of education and see the things that they can do to try and encourage their people to be able to help in our endeavors," said Kent Morgan, President of Randall Bearings.

Morgan says they are looking to finalizing the purchase of the McClain Road property this fall and start building next year. The new building project will retain the nearly 90 employees that currently work at Randall Bearings.
