In remembrance of SSgt. Sonny Zimmerman, the Village of Waynesfield is now covered with American flags. Homes, streets and the school he once walked the halls of is now waving good-bye with the red, white and blue. He may be gone, but the people of Waynesfield say he'll never be forgotten. For Kerri Motter, putting someone to rest at such a young age is a difficult experience.
About 1500 American flags were spread out through the city to show respect to the family. It has even been a bonding experience for the entire village.
Waynesfield-Goshen High School will be holding the homecoming for the fallen soldier on Saturday, July 27th at 11 a.m. The burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire. Friends will be received from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday also at the school. Condolences may be expressed at: www.armentroutfuneralhome.com
