People who live around the former Lost Creek Golf Course got a chance to ask questions about a proposed housing development that is taking its place.

Developers for the Lost Creek project unveiled their preliminary site plan to the public and let them ask questions about their proposed plans for the 110 acres of the golf course. One of the developers, Mike Blass, said there was misinformation being put out there and they wanted to set the record straight. The proposal includes 300 luxury apartments and 104 single family units to be built around 70 acres of the land, the other 42 are in the flood plain and will be used for recreation.

Blass very optimistic about the project and believes it could provide needed housing for the community.

“It’s very clear that we have a shortage in housing inventory, especially in that workforce housing price range, which we define as a retail price point for a single family home between $180,000 to roughly $225.000,” said Mike Blass, developer for Lost Creek Project.

Blass says one of the next steps is to file for non-annexation with the City of Lima. But some the residents that attended were concerned with Lima’s involvement and the project not turning out as planned. The developers say if everything gets in order, that ground could be broken in the Spring of 2020.
