Cridersville Food Truck Festival and Jeep Invasion draws crowds, supports fire department

CRIDERSVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) — Food, crafts and customized vehicles drew crowds to Cridersville on Saturday for the annual Food Truck Festival and Jeep Invasion hosted by the Cridersville Fire Department.

What began five years ago with just four food trucks has grown into one of the department’s best fundraisers. This year’s event featured around 30 food trucks offering a wide range of options, from coffee to lobster.

In addition to the food, attendees browsed crafts and homemade items from approximately 70 vendors and explored a showcase of several hundred customized Jeeps that filled the area.

Organizers say the funds raised during the event help support the department’s operational needs and improvement projects.

“We do these to help supplement stuff we need here at the station, renovations on the buildings, equipment we don't get from grants, things like that. So, community support is where we lie, and we rely on them to help us out. Our town has supported us for many, many years, and it's greatly appreciated by everybody here. It gives you a chance to catch up with old friends. That's what this town is usually based on. It's people coming and going and meeting old friends, seeing old friends," says Chief Rick Miller, Cridersville Fire Department.

The Cridersville Fire Department will host its next major fundraiser, the annual Jamboree, on July 10 and 11.
