LIMA, OH (WLIO) -Â One Lima organization is making sure that no one in the community is going hungry.
A wide variety of different groceries was available, from meats and produce to snacks and desserts.Â
On Friday, the Restoration House of Lima held a community food giveaway. The giveaway was open to anyone in the public who needs food assistance. A wide variety of different groceries was available, from meats and produce to snacks and desserts. Additionally, a trailer filled with boxes of groceries that would be delivered to Restoration House residents receiving addiction, mental health, and life crisis services. Many of the helpers loading the trailer are current restoration house residents volunteering. On Friday, we talked with one of the helpers on why this is so important.
"To be able to give back and have that opportunity, that's important within itself. To help somebody who's in need... you know, I'm a Christian, and God wants us to be able to help one another. So with that being said, I mean, it's just nice to be nice, you know? It's nice to give back. It's nice to help somebody who might be less fortunate," says Cletus Jackson, a helper with Restoration House of Lima.
