It's hard to believe that the summer is almost over and students will be heading back to the classroom soon.
One local agency that serves young adults is asking for donations of backpacks and school supplies to help them for the coming school year. The SAFY Lima Behavioral Health Youth Drop-in Center will be collecting the school supplies at their facility on Market Street. There is also one other item they are requesting.
"One of the hot ticket items for the youth that we serve ages 12 to 17 are socks, particularly footies. That's a bag-to-school clothing item that's highly underestimated among teenagers," said Regina Colwell, SAFY Lima.
You can drop off your donation any day of the week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 658 West Market Street through Friday, August 26th.
