LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Some last-minute holiday shoppers stopped by Lima’s Central District on Christmas Eve.
Some were searching for final gifts, while others stopped in for a warm cup of coffee or a sweet treat. Local businesses say the holiday rush has kept foot traffic steady in the days leading up to Christmas. At Touch of Europe, owner Neli Metzger said the season has brought a surge of customers looking for desserts to take home for the holiday.
“Yesterday, it was a really ‘whoa’ day. So yeah, we have been busy,” Metzger said. “We’re open until 3 o’clock today or until we’re sold out, and then we’ll be off tomorrow. We open back up Friday and Saturday, and then we’re going to take a short break until Jan. 7, reviving our menu and reorganizing stuff like that.”
After Christmas, Touch of Europe will take a short break before reopening in January with a refreshed menu, including new items and expanded gluten-free options.
