LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Allen County Fair is just days away from opening, bringing nine days of rides, food, live entertainment and family fun to the area.
The fair kicks off Friday, with Allen County Fairgrounds Manager Troy Elwer recently speaking with Lima Rotarians about what the fair has to offer this season.
Daily gate admission is $10 for anyone 7 years old and older, while children 6 and younger get in free every day. Admission includes a variety of free activities and entertainment.
“We are known for and work very hard on each year our free entertainment lineup throughout the nine days of the fair. This year in particular, you'll have to look forward to everything from Andy Rotz's Wild West Show up on the north end of the property. We're going to have the kids celebration and foam zone out in Roshman Park and entertainment throughout the day on the Nutrien Plaza stage just outside the grandstands for folks of all ages to enjoy,” Elwer said.
Visitors can also save on admission during select days of the fair.
A $2 discount on gate admission will be offered from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday.
Tuesday is Senior Citizen Day, with free admission for anyone 60 years old and older from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Veterans can also get in free Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
