LIMA, OH (WLIO) - With state assessments around the corner, Perry Elementary is finding new and engaging ways to get students motivated.
Students K through 6th wore test-themed shirts saying "I'm like a star bursting with knowledge" along with star glasses as they gathered in the school's gymnasium for their assembly Tuesday afternoon, designed to help get them ready for their upcoming tests. Each student in attendance had the opportunity to learn how to stay cool, calm, and collected when faced with tests and obstacles, all while, of course, watching the Wonder Wheels BMX Stunt Bikes Team perform amazing tricks.
"I just love each and every one of them, so looking over the vast crowd with all of them with their blue shirts and their sunglasses on, it's just so exciting that we're a family, and that's something that we've really tried to prove all year. That we are a family, we are a community, and we are building a strong unit together. And this was just another piece to prove that to the kids," said Principal Stephanie Tear, Perry Elementary School.
Principal Tear wants each student to know that they're in this together and that she is excited to see her students showcase what they know.
