The Lima FOE 370 donated $3,000 to help the Shawnee police pay for new radios for their officers. Their current radios are outdated, and if they break, it is no longer possible to purchase replacement parts. As other agencies are also upgrading radios, Shawnee Township wants to make sure that their radio systems is compatible, because they're so important in their work.

"This is the lifeline that they have to speak between dispatch and the officer. Without that communication, there's no way that we would know what resources would be needed or if the officer was in trouble or someone else needed," said Robert Kohli, Shawnee Township Chief of Police.

The Lima Fraternal Order of Eagles also made a donation to the Elida Police Department, and are happy to have the opportunity to give back to local law enforcement.

"We are very proud as an organization to back the police departments on what they need because they protect the community of Allen County and also everybody in the area," James Fair, Lima Fraternal Order of Eagles 370 trustee.

In 2022, the Lima Fraternal Order of Eagles 370 made over $260,000 in charitable donations to organizations in Allen County.
