Glenn has been holding the program for over a decade now; the goal, he says, is to make sure that all families can enjoy Thanksgiving together at home. Each year, between 300 and 400 turkeys are given away. Registration is open to everyone, not just Lima residents. This year, there are a few new rules to sign up.
You've got to bring your ID; you've got to show that you have three or more in your family. The way you do that, you bring your medical card, we'll see who you have eligible on there. The reason why we have to go by eligibility is due to the amount of turkey costs this year," stated Derry Glenn, Lima 6th Ward Councilman.
