ST. HENRY, Ohio (WLIO) — The St. Henry Redskins are moving on in the Division VII playoffs after holding off Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) rival New Bremen, 14–7, on Friday night.
These two teams met back in Week 9, when St. Henry shut out New Bremen 20–0. But this time, the Cardinals struck first. Gavin Dicke took off on a 39-yard quarterback keeper, racing untouched into the end zone to give New Bremen an early 7–0 lead.
St. Henry quickly answered. On fourth and one, Charlie Werling broke loose for a 28-yard touchdown, tying the game at 7 apiece.
Werling found the end zone again in the second quarter — his second score of the night — giving the Redskins a 14–7 lead that would hold the rest of the way.
With the win, St. Henry advances to the Division VII regional semifinals, where the Redskins will host Cedarville next Friday night.
