LIMA, OH (WLIO) - On Monday evening, Temple Christian School unveiled their new elementary building to the public ahead of the upcoming school year.
Around 150 people came out to the facility located at 750 Brower Road in Lima. The 32,000 square-foot facility, formerly the Lima Manor, will house grades kindergarten through 5th grade and includes 16 classrooms, a complete kitchen and lunchroom, and additional office space. Over the past 5 years, Temple Christian has observed a 45% increase in the student population to a current enrollment of 360 students. As the elementary students move into the new building, school officials are ready to serve the growing number of students.
"They're all beautiful classrooms. They have plenty of space, so our students will have the opportunity to have plenty of space, and we'll have the most up-to-date technology in those classrooms for our students. But what it really comes down to, and of course dedicated rooms for specials, dedicated rooms for intervention for students who may need a little extra assistance, might be on IEPs or 504s or whatever the case may be, so more space to be able to meet their needs better and just an opportunity to grow," says Bruce Bowman, Superintendent, Temple Christian School.
Superintendent Bowman shared that it will not be long before they start searching for additional space for middle and high school students. Temple Christian starts school on Monday, August 26th.
