LIMA, OH (WLIO) The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities held an award ceremony to honor its long-serving employees.
In collaboration with other employment service providers, the Board of DD celebrated a total of 13 individuals who have reached a milestone at their job.
Those having reached 5 to 25 years of service were recognized for their longevity, hard-work, and commitment to their professions.

"They fight barriers every day trying to deal with things unrelated to their disabilities, so to be employed and show that they have overcome some of those issues, we want to celebrate them for their efforts. Employment is definitely a team effort, so with Allen County Board of DD working with Marimor Industries, Goodwill Easter Seals, Capabilities, and also working with Coleman and O.O.D. (Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities), who couldn't be here tonight, so it's definitely a team effort to provide support to make employment possible," told Tammy Smith-Zack, Allen County Board of Development.
"I think I'm having a blast at McDonalds. It's really fun working there, and I know everybody that goes there. It's amazing, and I would like to keep on working," added Stacy Gould.
