LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Families looking to beat the summer heat can enjoy a little holiday spirit as The Meeting Place on Market hosts its annual Christmas in July celebration in downtown Lima.
The longtime tradition is a way for the café to thank the customers and community members who have supported the business over the years. The free family event will feature crafts and activities for children, drink specials and complimentary samples of Christmas coffee for adults along with live entertainment.
Organizers say the event has become a favorite summertime tradition, giving families an opportunity to enjoy holiday cheer during the middle of the summer.
"Just seeing the cafe full and just something to celebrate mid-season when school's getting ready to come back and everybody's starting to go on vacations. And it's just a lot of fun to come in and have everybody do a bunch of activities and enjoy some holiday cheer," said Amy McCluer of The Meeting Place on Market.
The Christmas on Main Street celebration will be held Friday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Meeting Place on Market in downtown Lima. McCluer encourages families to arrive early and take advantage of all the activities planned throughout the day.
