LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Incoming Ohio State Lima students had the opportunity to meet future classmates and build connections before the start of the fall semester during the campus' annual Buckeye Bash.
The event welcomed first-year students to the Ohio State Lima campus for games, activities and an opportunity to get to know one another before classes begin. Until now, many of the students' interactions with the university had centered on admissions, enrollment and preparing to begin their academic careers.
Campus organizers said the event was designed to help students establish friendships and feel more comfortable before their first day of class.
“It's exciting because a lot of them have been with us a couple times now and so this is an opportunity where we are able to get them connected to each other. It is really what we're looking to do and hopefully for them to make some connections and be excited about their first day. It's one of the last times that my enrollment services team get a chance to connect with them. So I'm excited for us to just kind of hang out with them and not do business every time we're connecting and so it's kind of our handoff. So, we're excited to see them,” says Ashley Marsh, Dir. of Enrollment Services for Lima Campus.
Classes for Ohio State Lima students begin Aug. 25.
