Three charged in Uniopolis murder

Three men could face the death penalty for the June murder of a Uniopolis resident.

26 year old Aaron Dietrich Sr. of Wapakoneta, 30 year old Joseph Furry of Van Wert, and 28 year old James Dinsmore of Lima were arrested on Thursday.

Dinsmore is already behind bars in Allen County where he faces attempted murder and felonious assault charges for nearly stabbing his girlfriend to death.

Each man is being charged with aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, kidnapping, and intimidation of a witness.  The aggravated murder charges include specifications that make the cases death penalty eligible.

54 year old Charles Hicks was found murdered in his Main Street apartment on June ninth.

The announcement was made during a morning news conference at the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office.

Since June, Auglaize County deputies and detectives have been working on the case with agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
