For those individuals enjoying a three day weekend, many area pools and beaches opening up their doors to the public. With the sun shining and temperatures near 70 degrees, many would consider this Memorial Day weekend perfect, but as Ottawa Metro Park opens up their doors, no one is coming in.
The beach is open for the weekend, allowing people to sun bathe and purchase season passes, but the water is just too cold to swim. A check of the water temperature at noon on Saturday showed the water was a chilly 66 degrees.
Ottawa Metro Park's beach will close after Memorial Day weekend, but will reopen on Sunday for the summer season.
