Update 4:39 AM 12/15/23 from The Ohio State Highway Patrol: On December 14, at approximately 1:42 a.m., a trooper from the Lima Post was behind a Dodge Magnum driving south on Interstate 75 near the state Route 65 exit that did not have a license plate displayed. Before the trooper could initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled and a pursuit ensued.
The pursuit continued south where Piqua Post troopers and Sidney Police Department officers successfully deployed stop sticks, deflating tires on the suspect’s vehicle. The Dodge exited I-75 and crashed into the guardrail on the south side of state Route 47. The driver, identified as Alan G. Gramajo, 18, Shelbyville, Kentucky, fled a short distance on foot, but was taken into custody by troopers.
Gramajo was charged with failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, and incarcerated at the Shelby County jail.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A teenager was arrested after leading law enforcement on a high-speed three-county chase early Thursday morning.
18-year-old Alan Giovanni Gramajo is in the Shelby County Jail on the charges of failure to comply with a police officer and fleeing and eluding. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the chase started in Allen County and traveled south down I-75 at a high rate of speed. The chase ended with Gramajo crashing the vehicle in Shelby County.
