LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Now that the eclipse has come and gone, what are you going to do with those solar glasses? Since it won't be until 2099 when the next total solar eclipse will be coming across our area, why not donate those solar glasses to children in Latin America to view their eclipse this August?
"We got word that there was going to be another eclipse in Latin America and that they were collecting glasses so we can mail them. It just seemed like a good opportunity because we enjoyed it, and we do have some left over. This will allow another group to enjoy what we got to enjoy," said Sally Windle, executive director of ArtSpace/Lima.
Several locations are collecting solar glasses, including ArtSpace/Lima, St. Gerard Catholic School, the City of Lima, and Beauty by Jill. You can find out more about this on the City of Lima's Facebook page.
