ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - It's a program to teach young girls how to be ladies, and on Tuesday they learn about taking time for themselves.
The "Girls in Pearls" program at Shawnee's Elmwood Elementary School got a spa day thanks to senior cosmetology students from Apollo Career Center.

The girls got to pick out their nail colors and how they wanted them painted. The young ladies enjoyed the attention and talking with the Apollo students.

"Premise of the program is to help instill confidence in girls and help them learn a little bit about self-care. So, our spa technology and cosmetology both junior and senior classes have come together in coordination with Elmwood, and we are performing manicures on over 240 girls today here at the school," explained Tasha Sheipline, Apollo cosmetology instructor.
