19-year-old Johnathon Miller pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary, felonious assault, theft, and improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle. Van Wert police say that on May 9th of 2022, an armed burglary took place at a home in the 300 block of Tyler Street. Two people were in the home at the time. The suspects had a gun and allegedly beat one of the victims with it.

27-year-old Bethel Bekele has been indicted on aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, and felonious assault for the death of 22-year-old Keris Riebel. This week he entered his plea of not guilty by reason of insanity on the charges. On January 1st, the Upper Sandusky Police Department was called to the Dollar Tree for a man waving a machete around inside the store.
The Allen County Grand Jury has charged 18-year-old Khyrese Garner, with murder, aggravated burglary, and robbery charges. There were six teenagers charged with Halpern's death. 18-year-olds, Keion Darden, Jaquan Glenn, and Bryanna Houston have their cases going through Allen County Common Pleas Court. Cases of two other teens under 18 years old are going through Allen County Juvenile Court. All of the defendants are facing murder charges.
The Allen County Grand Jury indicted 18-year-old Bryanna Houston on the charges of murder, aggravated burglary, and robbery. She signed a speedy time waiver to give her lawyers more time to prepare for her trial. A total of six teenagers were charged with the death of 17-year-old Jayden Halpern and all of the defendants are facing murder charges.
ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Another teen was indicted for the June murder of 17-year-old Jaden Halpern.
Tarockis Greer is facing charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and two counts of felonious assault. This case all began back in July of 2021 where Lima Police say that they were called to the 1600 block of west Wayne street for a possible shooting. There they found three victims inside the home that had been pistol-whipped during an apparent robbery. Two shots were fired in the incident. Greer as well as his co-defendant, Durand Tyson, were both indicted for the incident later that year.
19-year-old Ramiel Laws received his sentencing today in Allen County Common Pleas Court, where Judge Kohlrieser handed down the 30-month sentence. Laws was indicted by the Allen County Grand Jury in September of 2021 on aggravated robbery and rape charges that occurred in early August of 2021.
Keion Darden will have his jury trial set for January 9th of 2023. Darden was previously indicted along with 18-year-old Jaquan Glenn on charges of murder, aggravated burglary, and aggravated robbery, all with firearm specifications. On June 10th police responded to 764 West Lane Avenue for a potential home invasion. When they arrived, they found Jaden Halpern who was dead from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
