ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - A Lima teen makes her first common pleas court appearance on the charge of murder.
The Allen County Grand Jury indicted 18-year-old Bryanna Houston on the charges of murder, aggravated burglary, and robbery. She signed a speedy time waiver to give her lawyers more time to prepare for her trial. A total of six teenagers were charged with the death of 17-year-old Jaden Halpern and all of the defendants are facing murder charges.
According to law enforcement, on June 10th, the group tried to lure Halpern out of his Lane Avenue home. When they failed to do so, some of them forced their way into the house allegedly carrying air rifles. Halpern's dad saw the weapons and fired a shot hitting his son in the process killing him. Her jury trial is scheduled for April of 2023.
