“So that’s our job, is to make sure there’s nobody in here messing around and causing problems for people that just want to come out here, enjoy the fair and have a good time,” Treglia said. “And so the board members don’t have to worry about it, and the vendors don’t have to worry about it, and the 4-H clubs don’t have to worry about it. We’ll take care of all the problems, just let us know where it’s happening.”

Crime Stoppers and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information about catalytic converters stolen throughout the county. A suspect was caught on surveillance video following a theft at 5970 N. Defiance Trail on September 24th.   Suspect stole the catalytic converter from a work van.  Deputies found a saw blade that they believed was used in the theft.  If you have any information about this person you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 419-229-7867.

After an agreement couldn’t be reached with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office Blue Unit, a fact finder was brought in to make a determination in the 2nd year wage re-opener of the unions 3-year contract. The Blue Unit consists of correction officers, road deputies and dispatchers. They received a 2% lump sum bonus and a 1% wage increase to begin on June 17th. This increase will be funded by 2020 COVID reimbursement dollars that were allocated for this year. The report also included information on the next wage re-opener.

$10 million in grants are available to agencies to purchase body cameras. The Governor says his goal is for every police officer in Ohio to have one. Currently, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office does not equip its deputies with body cameras. Sheriff Matt Treglia says they could provide the money needed for them, but there is something else preventing their use.
